Sleeve is an important part in optical fiber adapter, which directly affects the insertion loss of the fiber adapter. Insertion loss refers to the attenuation of optical power caused by the fiber optic adapter to the system (i.e., the relative decrease of the output power of the fiber optic adapter relative to the input power). The insertion loss is mainly caused by the deviation between two adjacent fibers. If two fibers are arranged in a straight line and deviate is zero, the insertion loss is minimized.
