The planar waveguide type (PLC) optical splitter is an integrated waveguide optical power distribution device based on quartz substrate, which is fabricated by semiconductor technology (photolithography, etching and developing technology). The optical waveguide array is located on the upper surface of the chip, and the shunting function is integrated on the chip. Then, the two ends of the chip are coupled to the input and output ends of the multi-channel optical fiber array and packaged. The shunt channel of the planar waveguide fiber optic PLC splitter can reach 32 or more. The loss is not sensitive to the wavelength and can meet the transmission needs of different wavelengths. A passive optical network may only use a optical splitter, or multiple optical splitters may be used together to divide the optical signal. The centralized distribution of PLC optical splitters is generally used in the application of centralized distribution of users.
