PC Plastic MPO Fiber Optic Adapter For Single Mode And Multimode MPO Patch Cord

 

The MPO fiber optic jumper is a type of optical fiber patch cords, MPO (Multi Push On) is a multi cores optical fiber patch cord which is adopted as the standard IEEE connector type of 40G/100G transmission. MPO high density optical fiber pre-terminated system is mainly used in three areas: high density data center, fiber to the building, optical splitter and 40G, 100G, QSFP+ fiber optic transceiver connection.

The MPO fiber optic jumper is with multi-core connector, usually 12 fibers in a row, can support a row or rows in a MPO optical fiber connector, specified by IEC 61754-7 standard, according to the core number, can be divided into one rows (12 cores) and rows (24 cores or above).

According to IEC 61754-7, there are several factors to distinguish MPO connector types: fiber number (optical fiber array number), male / female head (Male-Female), polarity (Key), and polishing type (PC or APC). The MPO connection principle is: connectors with same pin number connect to each other. (12 cores to 12 cores, 24 cores to 24 cores, etc.); a male head and a female head should be paired; only same type of polishing can be connected (PC and PC, APC and APC).

The polarity of the MPO connector is managed by Key, and the two kinds of Key are defined: up (Key Up) and down (Key Down). A pair of MPO connectors is matched by a MPO fiber optic adapter. There are two types of MPO fiber optic adapters: Class A is defined as Key Up/Key Down and class B is defined as up to up (Key Up/Key Up). Optical fiber polarity can be managed by selecting a Class A or B class fiber optic adapter. The MPO connector with APC polishing end (SM) has a 8 degree slope, which can only be butted through a class a fiber adapter.
