Temperature of fiber optic transceiver is too high or too low will affect performance of the optical transceiver and bring communication data error, because the optical transceiver will alarm when temperature is not within normal range, and when fiber optic transceiver in adverse conditions, the switch will stop sending data, it will not restore to normal operating conditions and resend / receive data until the SFP optical transceiver is covered.
1, Result due to high temperature of fiber optic transceiver: If the working temperature of optical transceiver is too high, the optical power of optical module will become larger, the received signal will appear error, even burn out the fiber optic transceiver, so that the optical transceiver can not work normally, at this time, DDM function should be added, or a temperature control system for real-time monitoring and compensation for the fiber optic transceiver is required, such can ensure the stability of extinction ratio and optical power, and ensure the normal work of optical communication system.
2. Result of low temperature of optical transceiver:
Generally speaking, as long as the optical module is not exposed to the bad environment below zero degree Celsius, the temperature will not be too low. It is recommended not to use the fiber optic transceiver under the condition of too low temperature, which will cause unstable performance of SFP optical transceiver.
