There are three types fiber module in the market: Original optical transceiver from same manufacturer as the equipment, compatible optical transceiver and used optical module. As you all know, the price of the original module is very expensive. Prices of the secondary optical module are very low, but generally problems such as packet loss, error code may happened in half of a year. So now many customers consider compatible optical modules, but chips and production processes of compatible optical module manufacturers are different, so there is different quality. How to choose optical module with reasonable price and good quality?
1, How about the after-sales service of the optical module?
The normal life of new optical transceiver is 5 years, but most optical module is unable to identify quality in the first year, but it will see the quality in second or third year.
2, How do you distinguish used and new fiber optic transceiver?
As for secondary optical modules, problem like packet loss, optical power instability, light sensitivity decreased and many other problems may happen in half of a year. If there is power meter on hand, it is better to check whether the optical power is consistent with its data manual or report.
3, What is the compatibility between the optical module and the device?
