FA-TEPM0276, Standard Type Handheld Fiber Optical Power Meter With Auto Power Off Function

 

Unit of optical power is dBm, there is emitting and receiving optical power in optical fiber transceiver or fiber switch, usually emitting optical power is less than 0dbm, minimum receiving optical power of receiver section is sensitivity, the maximum receiving optical power minus the sensitivity value and get the unit of dB (dbm-dbm=db), and it is called dynamic range. Transmitting power minus sensitivity is the allowable optical fiber attenuation value. In practical test, transmitting power minus actual received optical power is the value of optical fiber attenuation (dB). The best value of receiving optical power is the maximum value of optical power - (dynamic range /2), but generally it will not reach such a good condition. Since dynamic range of each fiber media converter and optical module is not the same, so the allowable fiber attenuation should depends on the actual situation, generally the allowable attenuation is about 15-30dB.
